Background: Ryder's story came about as a result of watching the Black Sails TV show on Starz. I kept thinking about the characters of Maddie and Silver, and wondering what happened to them? What would their family be like? Which resulted in the characters presented on this blog. Ryder is the grandson of Silver and Maddie, on his mother's side. His mother was their middle daughter. Ryder got his nickname from his grandfather, as he liked to play on his ship and tried to stow away many times to venture out to sea when he was a young boy. Rodric was his father's middle name. No one dares to call him by his given name, to his face anyway. Ryder refuses to acknowledge it, as he has no use for his father. Ryder heads up his grandfather's business.
Relationships: His father was in and out of port (and relationship with his mother) throughout Ryder's early childhood, but he hasn't seen him in many years. He assumes his father dead. Ryder is married to Cristina and has 2 daughters, Nora and Lydia. His mother had no other children, but considering his father, he assumes he may have half siblings he isn't aware of. He is very close with his cousins on his mother's side, Johari and Emil, who are like siblings to him.
